Anytime you are warned by your boss that there is a good possibly you will get fired if you do this or that you just don’t do it or you face the consequences. Well, that is exactly what the former football head coach of Boston College Jeff Jagodzinski was warned about. Boston College told him if he went to interview for the New York Jets head coaching job that he would be fired, but Jagodzinski did it anyway.

Either Jagodzinski didn’t think Boston College was serious threat to fire him or he just didn’t care whether or not they would let him go, either way BC fired Jagodzinski for the Jets interview and now he is unemployed.
Will Jagodzinski get the Jets job? Probably not. So was there a point for doing what he did? Well, if he gets the Jets job somehow, then yeah, but if not, pretty dumb move in my opinion.
Who knows what possessed Jagodzinski to take the interview, maybe he had insider information that he was a guaranteed lock for the job or maybe he just wanted to get out of Boston College and what a better way than to get fired. Whatever the reason this was a weird situation which didn’t really make much sense to me, but I guess if he gets the Jets job will know why he took such a risk.
